Flying Lessons

Thinking about learning to fly again.

My main/daily computer is a Windows 7 machine.

I have re-installed MS Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight and two add-ons that add 12 more military aircraft to the program.

I have also installed MS Combat Flight Simulator 2: WWII Pacific Theater.

I have several Windows 10 machines and an external hard drive so I can install X-Plane as well.

I need to make a call to schedule a Class 3 Flight physical (I think) and to see if I can pass that before I go spending a lot of money.

Yes, a Third class medical would be required, You may want to contact the AOPA, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assn. They are an excellent resource for all things General Aviation. They have many free training courses and general medical questions. There number is 301-695-2000. If you decide to join AOPA, they provide an array of member services as well. There are still many free courses for non members. If they will let you speak to the medical dept. as a non member, they can give you the criteria to meet for the Third Class medical. http://www.aopa.org I see they have a 3 month risk free trial offer available now.

Get some high quality VR glasses, a haptic feedback pair of gloves & chair along with a dolby surround sound system and you can get almost all the sensory feedback you need. You won’t have to wait in lines, wonder about the weather or worry about crashing! All from the comfort of your home!

PS – Probably easier on the pocketbook.

I have great respect for anyone who can fly. I spent an hour in a professional jet simulator and realized that 3-D world is not for me! Good luck and God speed.
